3 Koreans nabbed for online fraud racket
MANILA, Philippines — Three Koreans were arrested by immigration agents for their supposed involvement in an online racket that conned their victims of some $9 million, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Wednesday said.
Arrested were Jung Myunghun, Yu Daewoong and Kang Wesung, the supposed leaders of a syndicate that preyed on customers of online shops in South Korea.
Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the three fugitives were arrested on Tuesday by agents of the BI Fugitive Search Unit during simultaneous operations in Parañaque City and in Pantabangan, Nueva Ecija.
