Israel inoculates more than 30,000 Pinoys

The government of Israel has inoculated 30,000 Filipino caregivers, 400 students and diplomats stationed in the Middle Eastern country against COVID-19, the Israeli Embassy said on Wednesday. “Israel is thankful for the Filipino caregivers for helping the elderly and the disabled Israeli citizens during the COVID-19 outbreak,” Israeli Ambassador to the Philippines Rafael Harpaz said. Filipinos with expired working permits were also given free vaccine shots, it added. Harpaz also cited the historic visit of President Duterte to Israel in 2018 during which the Israeli government signed an agreement with the Philippine government to regulate the working conditions of the Filipinos in Israel. —TINA G.
