MANILA, Philippines — No new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among Filipinos overseas were reported on Sunday, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
In its Feb. 14 update, the DFA said there were 14,658 Filipinos abroad who were infected with COVID-19 — of whom 4,459 were undergoing treatment and 9,220 were recovered or had been discharged.
Meanwhile, the death toll stood at 979.
The DFA said 8,103 of the total were recorded in the Middle East and Africa, 2,867 in the Asia Pacific Region, and 2,833 in Europe, and 855 in the Americas.
“The DFA remains fully committed to monitoring the situation of overseas Filipinos and remains steadfast in promoting and protecting their welfare,” the DFA said.
