DFA reports 81 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad

/ 08:10 PM December 23, 2020

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday (Dec. 23) reported 81 new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos overseas, a sudden spike after a zero record on Tuesday (Dec. 22).

The DFA said the increase was caused by late reports due to privacy concerns in Europe and the Middle East.

Previously reported new cases, fatalities and recoveries in two European countries were also removed from the DFA tally on Wednesday due to clerical error, the department said.
