DFA: 3 new COVID-19 cases recorded among Filipinos abroad

MANILA, Philippines—The Department of Foreign Affairs tallied three new COVID-19 cases among Filipinos living abroad, it announced on its official Twitter account Saturday.

The new cases were from the Asia and Pacific region bringing the total tally to 11,522.

Deaths and recoveries, however, remain unchanged from their previous tally on Friday which was at 830 and 7,461.

There are still 3,231 individuals who are undergoing treatment across the 82 countries or territories where Filipinos were recorded to have contracted the virus.

“The DFA personnel in our Foreign Service Posts remain steadfast in partnering with local health authorities and agencies to ensure Filipinos’  awareness of and adherence to preventive measures against  COVID-19, and commit to tirelessly attending to the needs of our people affected by this pandemic, whenever possible,” wrote the DFA.
