MANILA, Philippines — The number of Filipinos abroad who have contracted the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) remains at 11,244 as the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) recorded no new infections on Sunday.
No new recoveries and fatalities were also recorded, according to the DFA.
Of the tally, 7,279 have recovered while 817 have died. The remaining 3,148 are currently being treated for the respiratory disease.

The majority or 2,306 of the active cases are from the Middle East and Africa, 510 in the Asia Pacific region, 176 from Europe, and 156 from the Americas.
Over 46 million people worldwide have been infected with COVID-19 since it was first detected in Hubei, China.
In the Philippines, the coronavirus has so far sickened 383,113 people, including 348,760 recoveries and 7,238 deaths. A total of 27,115 are currently undergoing treatment.
