Big Bang Convention –– Kilusang kontra COVID
On October 22, 2020 at 2-5 pm, Kilusang Kontra Covid invites you to its second major activity, the BIG BANG CONVENTION, “Dagdag Kaalaman, Wastong Paraan – Para COVID Labanan” to be held at the Manuel L. Quezon Ceremonial Hall, 15th Floor, Quezon City Hall for the guest speakers and to be livestreamed from its Facebook page for public viewing. This undertaking is between the Quezon City Government under the stewardship of the Hon. Mayor Joy Belmonte and the KilKoVid Alliance.
An impressive line-up of guest speakers is on hand to share their professional knowledge and experience on the various topics consistent with the goals of KilKoVid which are: “Kaligtasan, Kalusugan & Kabuhayan”. These are: Welcome Address and COVID QC Update ( Hon. Mayor Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte), Current Updates of IATF and NTF on the COVID Situation in the Country (Hon. DILG Secretary Eduardo M. Año), COVID-19: Past, Present & Future (Tony C. Leachon, MD, FPCP), How to Prevent Resurgence and Adapting to New Normal After COVID-19 Infection ( Edsel T. Salvana, MD, FPCP, FIDSA), Economic & Business Recovery in the Philippines and Quezon City during the COVID-19 Pandemic (Congresswoman Stella Luz A. Quimbo), COVID-19 Information Communication and Technology for Education and COVID Response (Usec. Eliseo M. Rio Jr.), How We Can Support our QC Barangay Partners (KilKoVid Alliance Partners). The Open Forum will be moderated by Atty. Dot B. Gancayco and Councilor Ricky Corpuz.
Lending their relentless support for the event are our country’s world-class entertainers, Dr. Nonoy Zuniga and Mr. Noel Cabangon who will perform some musical numbers during the convention.
The alliance partners of Kilusang Kontra Covid (KilKoVid) consist of the following parties: Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (National President: Dr. Marivic Pilares Cruz), Philippine Academy of Family Physicians (QC Chapter President: Dr. Flora Marin), Philippine College of Physicians (President Dr. Melvin Hacutina), Rotary International District 3780 (Governor Johnny Gaw Yu), UP Women Lawyers’ Circle (President Atty. Arlene Lapuz- Ureta), Urban Green Communes (President Atty. JC Tejano), Celebrity Club (General Manager Mr. Art Tibay). Also present is the steering committee who organized this event: Dr. Tony Leachon (Chairman), Atty. Dot B. Gancayco (President), Egay Zaragoza (Vice-President & Convention Chairman), Popo Suanes (Secretary), Dr. Martin Martinez (Treasurer), Dr. Rosel Doval Santos & Estel Ramos (Ways & Means Committee). Councilor Ricky Corpuz, Councilor Freddie Roxas, Mr. Paul Padilla and the support team from the QC Mayors office collaborated with KilKovid for the organization and preparation of this convention. Expected to attend are the officers of 142 barangays of QC, 50 QC Council Sectoral Representatives, 36 QC Councilors and the more than 200 KilKoVid Crusaders.
