MANILA, Philippines — The total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos overseas exceeded 10,800 after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 291 additional infections on Monday.
According to the DFA, the COVID-19 tally among the Filipino community abroad now stands at 10,840.
The DFA also reported that 153 more Filipino patients recovered from the respiratory disease, bringing the number of recoveries to 6,903. There are 3,139 Filipinos who remain under treatment.
The death toll, meanwhile, increased to 798 with five new fatalities recorded by the DFA.
The Philippines logged 2,291 newly confirmed COVID-19 cases, pushing the country’s caseload to 324,762.
Of the total number of cases, 45,799 are considered active.
