MANILA, Philippines — No Filipino have so far been reported affected in recent forest fires across the US West Coast, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
“The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirms that no Filipinos have so far been reported affected by the recent forest fire incidents across the United States’ West Coast,” the DFA said in a statement on Monday.
The DFA then advised the public to monitor advisories released by the Philippine Consulates General in Los Angeles and in San Francisco for updates and necessary assistance.
Over 30 people have been reported killed following wildfires in the West Coast, according to local authorities.
The blaze across California, Oregon and Washington state have burned nearly five million acres, destroying neighborhoods and driving thousands of residents away from their homes.
