No new COVID-19 cases, deaths among Filipinos abroad – DFA

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Sunday reported no new COVID-19 cases and deaths among Filipinos overseas.

The total COVID-19 tally for overseas Filipinos remains at 10,181, according to figures released by the DFA.

The DFA, meanwhile, reported two new recoveries, bringing the total to 6,433. The death toll is at 768.

Meanwhile, the DFA noted that it has so far facilitated the repatriation of 174,000 overseas Filipino since February this year in light of the pandemic.

In the Philippines, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases reached 261,216 on Sunday.

Of the number, 207,568 have recovered while 4,371 have died.

Globally, over 28 million individuals have so far been infected by the new coronavirus, which originated from Wuhan City in China’s Hubei province late last year. More than 906,000 have died from the disease across the world.
