361 distressed OFWS repatriated from Lebanon
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs repatriated on Thursday 361 distressed overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Lebanon.
The OFWs arrived via Philippine Airlines (PAL) chartered special flight PR-8681 from Beirut which landed at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) Terminal 3 at around 8:11 p.m.
PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said PAL deployed its 370-seater Boeing 777-300 aircraft, with tail no. RP-C7778 to bring home the OFWs.
The flight left Naia at around 5:11 p.m. on Wednesday, arriving at Beirut’s Rafic Hariri International Airport at around 8:30 p.m. same day local time. It departed for Manila two hours later.
The repatriation flight was the second from Lebanon since the chemical explosions at Beirut port last month. — (Jerome Aning)
