MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported Friday two new cases of coronavirus infection among Filipinos abroad.
With the new cases, the total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad has now reached 9,975, the DFA said.
Of this number, 3,373 are undergoing treatment, 5,869 have recovered or have been discharged, while 733 have died.
As per the different regions, 6,927 COVID-19-infected Filipinos are in the Middle East and Africa; 1,156 are in Europe; 1,100 are in the Asia Pacific region; and 792 are in the Americas.
Meanwhile, no new recoveries and fatalities were recorded, said DFA.
“Echoing President Duterte’s message today in commemoration of Ninoy Aquino Day, the Department of Foreign Affairs, together with its Foreign Service Posts, calls on Filipino nationals across the globe to cooperate and work with host governments and local health authorities in order to keep themselves, their families, and communities safe,” DFA said.
