MANILA, Philippines — The number of COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos reached 9,908 after the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) reported 12 new infections on Monday.
According to the DFA, 3,338 patients of the total COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad remain under treatment.
Meanwhile, 5,844 have recovered from the respiratory disease, including two new recoveries.
One fatality was reported, the DFA said, which brought the death toll to 726.
In the Philippines, the confirmed cases surpassed 164,000 with over 3,300 additional infections reported by the Department of Health.
Globally, over 21.2 million individuals have so far been infected by the new coronavirus, which originated from Wuhan City in China’s Hubei province late last year.
More than 761,000 have died from the disease across the globe.
