MANILA, Philippines — The COVID-19 task force has allowed minor children, those with special needs and foreign parents of Filipino nationals to enter the country provided they have the appropriate visas.
The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, in its Resolution No. 60, revised previous guidelines which only allowed foreign spouses and children of Filipinos to enter the Philippines.
“Foreign spouses, minor children including children with special needs regardless of age, of Filipino nationals as well as foreign parents of Filipino nations including children with special needs regardless of age; provided they secure or possess the appropriate visas,” the resolution read.
Earlier, the IATF further eased travel restrictions and allowed foreign nationals with long-term visas to enter the country starting August 1. No new entry visa application, however, will be accepted.
Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said foreigners should stay in accredited facilities while they await results of their COVID-19 polymerase chain reaction test.
