Korean Embassy temporarily closed for 3 days as virus sickens a staff

MANILA, Philippines — The Korean Embassy in Taguig City will be closed for three days starting Monday, July 20, after one of its workers was found positive for the coronavirus.

In a statement on Friday, the embassy said a security guard’s test result turned out positive for SARS-CoV-2 on July 17 and it is now notifying the public in a bid to prompt contract tracing.

“He has been on duty from Monday (July 13) to Friday (July 17), thus for those who have visited the office during the time should take note,” read the statement from the Korean Embassy Facebook page.

The three-day closure will give way for the disinfection of its facilities, the embassy said.
