MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Saturday said 9,001 Filipinos abroad have been afflicted with COVID-19.
This, it added, includes 21 new infections it documented as of July 18.
In a tweet, DFA said the latest cases were recorded from Asia and the Pacific.

With 21 new confirmed cases reported in Asia and the Pacific today, the DFA reports that the total number of Filipinos abroad infected by COVID-19 has breached the 9,000 mark, of which over 1,400 are DOH IHR verified, over 3,000 are undergoing treatment, (1/3) pic.twitter.com/4pdxqj6yab

Of the total number of COVID-19 cases, DFA said 3,046 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals and health centers.
No new deaths or recoveries from the disease have been recorded, it also said.
Thus, deaths due to COVID-19 among Filipinos abroad remain at 634 while recoveries are still at 5,231, according DFA.
