MANILA, Philippines — The total number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos abroad increased to 8,804, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Saturday.
Latest figures from the agency showed that only one new case of coronavirus disease among Filipinos overseas was recorded. The latest case is from Asia and the Pacific.

Today, the DFA received a lone report from a country in Asia and the Pacific confirming only one new confirmed case and another recovery among our nationals abroad.

Of the total number of COVID-19 cases, DFA said 2,944 Filipinos abroad are undertaking treatment in hospitals and health centers.
DFA also documented one more survivor of the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 5,266.
However, no new deaths of the respiratory ailment were recorded, DFA said. This maintained the COVID-19 death toll to 594.
