MANILA, Philippines — A pregnant overseas Filipino worker (OFW) tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) after returning to Macau from the Philippines, an official from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.
“A pregnant OFW returning to Macau from a vacation in PH was diagnosed as [COVID]-positive,” DFA Undersecretary Brigido Dulay wrote on Twitter on Tuesday.

Citing information from the Philippine Consulate General in Macau, Dulay said the pregnant OFW “is the only active [COVID-19] case in Macau at present.”
“Our consulate is monitoring the condition of our OFW through Macau health authorities,” he added.
Latest figures from the DFA showed that the total number of COVID-19 cases among overseas Filipinos is 8,679.
Of the number, 2,901 are undergoing treatment, 5,201 have recovered while 577 others have died.
In the Philippines, health officials have confirmed 46,333 COVID-19 cases in the country, including 12,185 recoveries and 1,303 deaths.
