PH Embassy in US tells Pinoys to obey health protocols
MANILA, Philippines — Amid the surge of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the United States, the Philippine Embassy in Washington, D.C., has advised Filipinos to obey regulations set by health authorities to stop the further spread of the virus.
“Filipinos in the US are strongly advised to continue abiding by the health protocols imposed by local authorities. Please wear face masks and follow social distancing rules in public places and whenever you are in the company of people who are not members of your household,” the embassy said in a public advisory issued on Saturday.
The embassy also warned about hate crimes and racist attacks in the United States amid the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter protests.
“During these challenging times, please continue to exercise increased vigilance and take necessary measures to ensure your safety,” the embassy said.
