MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Consulate General in Jeddah has suspended all of its operations starting Tuesday until July 2 after personnel and two of its former wards tested positive for COVID-19.
In an advisory dated June 22, the Consulate said the person who got infected with the coronavirus had duties involving “high public exposure.”
The two former wards, meanwhile, were recently repatriated to the Philippines.
“All Consulate personnel has been instructed to self-quarantine and to seek medical attention should they develop the symptoms,” it assured.
The Consulate encouraged those who visited its office from June 14 to June 18 to monitor themselves and call 937 should they notice any symptoms.
Despite its suspension of operations, the Consulate said it will continue to respond to emergency requests for any assistance from the Filipino community.
