Remains of 2 Filipino nurses to be flown home from Libya

MANILA, Philippines — The remains of two Filipino nurses who died in Libya will be flown back home soon, according to the Philippine embassy in Tripoli.

“Among those the Embassy would be reuniting with loved ones in the Philippines are two of our kababayan nurses in Tripoli—Herminia Estrada and Glenna Deza—who passed away from non-coronavirus complications several weeks ago,” the Philippine embassy in Libya said in a Facebook post on Sunday.

The embassy said the remains of the two nurses will be flown home by Libyan Airlines and Philippine Airlines.

The Philippine Embassy, the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in Tripoli had arranged the flights.

DFA spokesperson and Assistant Secretary Ed Meñez told INQUIRER.net that they will still look into  the cause of death of the two nurses.
