President Rodrigo Duterte will join the virtual summit of the Association of South East Asian Nations (Asean) next week, his spokesperson Harry Roque said.
“In due course, we can publicize the agenda of the different Asean meetings,” Roque added.
Vietnam will be hosting the online summit next week after the annual summit was postponed in April because of the pandemic.
In mid-April, leaders of the regional bloc held a special online summit to discuss the region’s response to the global health threat.
There are more than 122,000 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Southeast Asia , with Indonesia having the most cases at 41,431. —Julie M. Aurelio
