Globe is supporting the Mandaluyong City’s campaign to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic by giving the local government unit funding, communication and Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to its medical front liners.

The company boosted Mandaluyong’s testing capability by donating Php 1 million for the purchase of additional testing kits for the coronavirus to benefit more of its residents.  Access to stable, reliable and fast internet was also made possible with the installation of GoWiFi hotspots at the National Center for Mental Health (NCMH), Mandaluyong Public Markets 1 & 2 and at Puregold Price Club-Shaw. Front liners and the general public will have connectivity for emergency and other purposes while they are in these areas.  Apart from providing internet connectivity, Globe has also zero-rated the NCMH COVID Hotline.

“We support Mandaluyong City’s various initiatives to help its residents withstand the impact of COVID-19 in the coming weeks. We hope our donations will make a difference for the people of Mandaluyong as they go through these tough times brought by the pandemic,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe SVP for Corporate Communications and Chief Sustainability Officer.

Medical front liners at the NCMH also received PPEs from the company to keep them safe and protected against possible exposure to COVID-19 while working on their shifts at the medical facility.  They were also given mobile phone kits preloaded with unli all net call and text for 45 days to ease communication lines between frontliners on duty, enable them to attend to emergency situations faster and for them to remain connected with their families and loved ones.
