MANILA, Philippines — Two thousand eight hundred forty five Filipinos overseas have so far been infected by the coronavirus disease 2019, (COVID-19), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Friday.
The DFA said that 24 new cases have been recorded. Meanwhile, it also recorded 11 Filipinos who successfully recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,558.
Six new fatalities were recorded from Europe and the Middle East, increasing the death toll to 340.
The Middle East and Africa have the most number of COVID-19 cases among Filipinos overseas (909), followed by Europe (816), the Americas (633) and Asia Pacific (487).
The COVID-19 pandemic has infected almost 6 million people globally and claimed the lives of over 360,000 individuals, so far.
