3 more Filipinos overseas die of COVID-19 — DFA

MANILA, Philippines — The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has claimed the lives of three more Filipinos abroad, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced Sunday.

This brings the total number of COVID-19 fatalities among overseas Filipinos to 295.

Meanwhile, only one additional case was recorded with the total of confirmed cases now at 2,523.

“No new reports were received from the Americas and Asia and the Pacific,” the DFA said.

There was also one new recovery recorded, bringing the total number of recoveries to 879.

Of the 2,523 recorded cases, the DFA said 1,350 are still undergoing treatment.

Globally more than 5.3 million people have been infected with COVID-19. Of this number, as at least 2 million have recovered while over 350,000 people have died of the disease.

The Philippines, on the other hand, has 14,025 COVID-19 cases with 3,249 recoveries and 868 fatalities.
