EU donates tablets to city jails for online visitations
MANILA, Philippines — The European Union (EU) will donate multimedia tablets to jails in Quezon, Davao, Cebu, Angeles, Bacolod and Naga cities so inmates can communicate with their families and lawyers while in detention.
Thomas Wiersing, chargé d’affaires of the EU, said its program GoJust initially provided multimedia tablets for court hearings through videoconferencing.
