DFA records 21 new COVID-19 cases of Filipinos abroad, total now at 1,922

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) has recorded 21 additional COVID-19 cases of Filipinos abroad, raising the total to 1,922 as of May 7.

Recoveries, meanwhile, stand at a total of 557 after 34 new recoveries were recorded from the Asia Pacific (ASPAC) region, DFA also reported. The current recovery rate is at 6.5%.

Seven new deaths were also recorded from the Americas, raising the total to 222 deaths. There are currently 46 countries and regions with confirmed Filipino COVID-19 cases.

Europe currently has the most number of Filipino COVID-19 cases with 612 confirmed in 16 countries. The Americas, however, has recorded the most number of Filipino deaths with 128 fatalities recorded across six countries.

The Philippines currently has 10,343 confirmed COVID-19 cases, 1,618 of which have already recovered while 685 have succumbed to the disease.
