MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday recorded 52 news cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) among overseas Filipinos across 44 countries.
Figures released by the DFA showed that there are now 1,395 Filipinos abroad who contracted the disease.
Of the number, 829 Filipino patients are still undergoing treatment, while 380 have recovered including 49 new recoveries.
“For the past month, the total number of Filipino COVID-19 patients who recovered remains higher than the total number of fatalities by 104 (percent),” the DFA said.
One new death has also been reported, bring the number of fatalities to 186.

“As the DFA continues to update the public about the status of our nationals across the globe, the Department, through its Foreign Service Posts, likewise remains vigilant and committed to assisting our people in this fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” the department added.
In the Philippines, there are so far 7,777 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Of these cases, 932 have recovered from the disease while 511 have died.
