MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine government has received a South Korean donation of detection kits for coronavirus disease 2019 worth $500,000 (about P25.4 million), the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Saturday.
The 700 units of Q-Sens 2019-nCoV detection kits, which can perform up to 35,000 tests, arrived in Manila on Friday night, the DFA said.
The kits were formally turned over to the Philippines on Saturday in simple rites at the DFA central office in Pasay City.
Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., Health Secretary Francisco Duque III and National Task Force on COVID-19 spokesperson Restituto Padilla Jr. received the donation from South Korean ambassador to the Philippines Han Dong-man.
