MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday reported that 25 more Filipinos abroad have been infected with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), bringing the total to 594.
Data from the DFA showed that of the total number, 362 of these are undergoing treatment, while 164 have recovered or discharged from the hospital.
Meanwhile, the total number of fatalities due to the viral disease is at 68, the DFA added. This comes after three new deaths in the Americas and in Europe.
Previously, the DFA said that there were 569 confirmed cases of COVID-19 among Filipinos abroad.
The COVID-19 crisis was declared as a pandemic by the World Health Organization, as it has infected 1.4 million worldwide.
In the Philippines, there are 3,870 confirmed cases of COVID-19, of which 96 managed to recover while 182 succumbed to the disease.
