MANILA, Philippines — The lone Filipino left under quarantine in Hong Kong after her employer tested positive for the COVID-19 has been released, the Philippine Consulate General there said.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook Friday, the Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong said the Filipino “is healthy and has returned to her place of work.”
The patient was the second Filipino placed under quarantine in Hong Kong.
“This brings the number of Filipinos in quarantine in Hong Kong to ZERO,” the consulate said.
“On the other hand, the two (2) Filipinos that tested positive for COVID-19 remain in hospital but no longer exhibit symptoms,” it added.
The consulate said that according to health authorities, the first Filipini patient who tested postive for COVID-19 is expected to be released on Saturday provided that final test results come out negative.
“Per request of our above kababayans, we ask the public to respect their privacy and keep their identities secret,” it said.
“The Consulate will continue to monitor their condition and stands ready to render all necessary assistance to them,” the consulate added.
