MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) will still monitor Filipino repatriates from Wuhan City in China even after their mandatory 14-day quarantine in Tarlac, a health official said Saturday.
“Mino-monitor pa rin. We will still follow-up bago sila umuwi. Ibibigay sa kanila ang hotline number ng DOH so kung sakali makaramdam sila ng sintomas they can easily call us,” DOH Health Assistant Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said over dzBB.
(We will still monitor them. We will still follow-up before they are sent home. We will give them the hotline number of DOH so in case they experience any symptoms they can easily call us.)
The 30 Filipinos who were evacuated from the coronavirus-hit Chinese city in Hubei province last February 9 were set to leave the quarantine site in Athlete’s Village in New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac province this Saturday.
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said it received a “clean bill of health” for the repatriates, allowing them to leave the quarantine site.
The repatriates, together with the 10-man Health Emergency Response Team from the Department of Foreign Affairs and the DOH, six flight crew members, and three ground crew operators, have all received a “clean bill of health.”
