Amdocs, a leading global provider of software and services to communications and media companies, has donated and turned over food packs to Globe Telecom to aid in the ongoing relief operations for communities affected by the ongoing eruption of Taal Volcano.
Amdocs has been a long-time strategic partner of Globe and has also collaborated with Globe on several initiatives throughout the years to support local communities, as part of its corporate social responsibility program.
The food packages were provided to 306 families seeking shelter at Mataasnakahoy Municipal Hall in Lipa City, Batangas. Meal packing and distribution were done through the assistance of Globe volunteers, members of the Philippine Coast Guard, and the local government unit.
So far, Globe has conducted relief operations in 36 evacuation centers in Batangas and Cavite, benefitting 3,627 families or 18,135 individuals.
It has also reached out to 546 families or 2,730 individuals in three barangays in Batangas in cooperation with Sagip Kapamilya, ABS-CBN Foundation’s emergency humanitarian assistance program.
Globe, likewise, encourages its customers to make their Globe Rewards points more meaningful by donating them to Rise Against Hunger via the Globe Rewards app until February 15, 2020. Proceeds will augment RAH’s meal pack distribution and relief efforts for severely affected areas.
