MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Justice (DOJ) has started studying how to correctly discontinue the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA).

“The DOJ has been tasked to study the proper procedure to terminate the VFA. We are doing it now,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said Friday.

President Rodrigo Duterte said the country will abandon the VFA if the United States will not rectify the cancellation of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s US visa.
