MANILA, Philippines — The navies of the United States, China, and Russia are among those that will send ships to the International Fleet Review to be hosted by the Philippines later this year.
Navy chief Vice Adm. Robert Empedrad said 11 nations have so far committed to bring their ships to the Philippines this May.
The event is a platform for world navies to showcase their naval prowess.
“They will be sending their aircraft carriers, submarines, destroyers, man of war and other modern warships,” Empedrad told reporters Wednesday.
The Philippine Navy will also host the Western Pacific Naval Symposium, which will coincide with the multinational fleet review.
Empedrad said 32 chiefs of navy will be attending the symposium.
