30 Filipinos repatriated from Haiti due to hazards

MANILA, Philippines — Thirty Filipinos have been repatriated from Haiti which is being gripped by “unstable economic and security situations,” the Philippine Embassy in the U.S. said.

In a tweet on Thursday (Manila time), the embassy said its officials facilitated the repatriation of the 30 Filipino nationals from Haiti to the Philippines on January 14.

The embassy said the repatriated Filipinos will arrive in Manila on Thursday.

According to the embassy, the Filipino nationals were repatriated due to Haiti’s “unstable economic (and) security situations caused by continuous civil unrest, crime (and) kidnapping.
