MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed that there are Filipino victims involved in a car accident that killed two and injured four others in Singapore Sunday afternoon.

“Specific details are being validated but yes, it appears that Filipino victims are involved,” Foreign Affairs Assistant Secretary Eduardo Meñez told reporters.

Meñez added the department’s Office of the Undersecretary for Migrant Workers Affairs (OUMWA) “is checking the latest information about this tragic accident with our embassy.”

“All assistance will be provided to the victims,” he further said.

Two female pedestrians were killed while four others were injured after a car crashed onto a side road at Lucky Plaza in Singapore Sunday afternoon, the Straits Times reported.

The car had crashed through a metal railing and landed on the side road next to the mall, hitting several people in the process, several eyewitnesses told the Straits Times

Lucky Plaza mall is known to be a popular destination and hang-out place for foreign workers, especially for Filipino domestic workers.
