BOHOL CITY – The Modern PUV Caravan cheers its fifth triumphant and last of its stop in Region VII in the friendly heart of Visayas – Bohol City, today, 12 November 2019, in Bohol Cultural Center.

199 participants from 13 cooperatives from various parts of the region assembled at the event organized under the leadership of LTFRB Regional Director Col. Eduardo Montealto to learn about the government’s PUV Modernization Program.

“Bohol is ready for modernization.“, a consistent message delivered by the city’s Local Government Unit as Provincial Governor Arthur C. With an in-depth understanding of the project, the LGU emphasized on the improvements the PUVMP can bring about in the transport sector and livelihood of their drivers, operators, and commuters.

An early morning motorcade of the modern PUV compliant units greeted the locals of Bohol, leading drivers, operators, and commuters to flock and learn about the components of the program through presentations, discussions, an open forum, and exhibitions by the manufacturers and gadget providers who are working with the agency for an effective implementation and partnership with stakeholders.

Representatives from key national government agency partners were also present such as the Office of Transportation Cooperatives (OTC), Landbank of the Philippines (LBP), Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP), and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

With the theme “Arangkada ng Pagbabago tungo sa Kaunlaran,” the Caravan aims to showcase a variety of Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) compliant units and get and engage the support of its stakeholders across the country – the drivers, operators, and the riding public.

The PUV Modernization Program is the flagship, non-infrastructure project of the administration of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte with the goal of providing a comfortable life for all Filipinos through a safe, reliable, convenient, affordable and environmentally-sustainable public transportation system in the country.
