MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Embassy in Iraq on Friday became creative by using a “mother-daughter” internet meme to caution Filipinos against illegal recruiters abroad.

In a Facebook post, the embassy posted a meme that features a cartoon mother who became puzzled after her daughter went home early.

“Anak, Bakit bumalik ka? Akala ko may tour ka sa ibang bansa? [Daughter, why did you return? I thought you have a scheduled trip to another country?]” the mother said.

The daughter, who is dragging her backpack, answered her mother that she returned after dealing with an illegal recruiter.
