MANILA, Philippines — No Filipino was reported injured after bushfires broke out in parts of New South Wales, Queensland, and Western Australia, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said Wednesday.
The DFA said the information was based on reports of its embassy in Canberra, Consulate General in Sydney, and Honorary Consulates in Brisbane and Perth.

The DFA added that it is closely monitoring the situation in affected areas and is coordinating with various agencies and Filipino community leaders in Australia to ascertain the safety and welfare of Filipinos there.
It also advised Filipinos in affected areas to follow instructions of local authorities and take all necessary precautions.
The DFA said Filipinos requiring assistance may contact the relevant Philippine Consulate with jurisdiction over their areas.
