MANILA, Philippines — If you were given an opportunity to study abroad, will you grab it?
Nearly 900 students, academicians, and researchers attended the Cavite leg of the European Higher Education Fair (EHEF) which was held in the Lyceum Philippine University in General Trias town last Oct. 28.
Universities and higher education institutions in the European Union (EU) were represented the event — among them, Advantage Austria and Modul University in Austria; Charles University and Masaryk University in the Czech Republic; Budapest Metropolitan University in Hungary; Instituto Europeo di Design in Italy, and Campus Spain in Spain.
The fair revolved around its theme “Study in Europe: EUr Journey to Excellence,” which sought to underscore the advantages of studying in the EU.
“The EU is an excellent destination for academic and scientific research programmes, as well as being an ideal atmosphere for scholarly activities,” the EU Delegation to the Philippines said in a statement.
“Most EU universities offer specialized and advanced study courses in Engineering, Architecture, Social Sciences, Arts and Humanities, and Information Technology,” it added.
Rafael de Bustamante Tello, first counselor of the EU Delegation to the Philippines, said that the Cavite leg of the fair stemmed from requests to bring it outside Metro Manila.
A Filipino scholar, Kent Tangcalan, recently finished his degree in Europe with summa cum laude honors.
His advice to those who want to have a similar experience as his and study abroad?
“Forget about all your doubts, don’t be afraid to try.”
