MANILA, Philippines — Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua is currently in the Philippines on an official visit and is scheduled to pay a courtesy call to President Rodrigo Duterte, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Wednesday, Oct. 23.
In a statement, the DFA said Hu arrived in Manila on Tuesday (Oct. 22) and was welcomed by Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin, Jr. and other DFA officials.
The Chinese officials met briefly with the DFA officials.
The DFA said Hu was the one in charge of agriculture, water resources, commerce and tourism in the Chinese government.
Hu was set to call on Duterte and meet with Philippine economic managers to discuss trade, investment, tourism, agriculture. He was also expected to discuss how to fast track implementation of key infrastructure projects that are being financed with Chinese government help. /TSB
