112 pass special professional licensure exam for teachers in Middle East

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 112 examinees passed the special licensure exam for elementary and secondary teachers given in Middle East, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced Wednesday.

PRC said 31 elementary teachers out of 161 examinees passed while 81 secondary teachers out of 306 examinees passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) given last August in several areas in the Middle East including Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates; Al-Khobar, Jeddah and Riyadh in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Manama in Bahrain; Doha in Qatar; and in Al Ahmadi in Kuwait.

The passing rates for the exam for elementary and secondary teachers were at 19.25 percent and 26.47 percent, respectively.

Jona Elissa Taeza Mayrong topped the exam for elementary teachers after garnering a rating of 81.20 percent while Mary Girlie Grace Macapanpan De Roma topped the exam for secondary teachers with 88.60 percent.

Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals, PRC said.
