PH Embassy in S. Arabia: Don’t report abuse on social media

/ 03:30 AM September 23, 2019

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Embassy in Saudi Arabia has warned the 1 million-strong Filipino community there against “sensationalizing” and reporting cases of abused overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) on social media.

All requests for assistance should be coursed directly to the embassy so they can immediately assist the distressed OFW, it added.

The embassy complained that the news report did not provide the victim’s personal details. —Dona Z. Pazzibugan
