Aquino: Gov’t still interceding for 3 OFWs to be executed

MANILA, Philippines – President Benigno Aquino III said that while his government has not stopped interceding for the three Filipino drug mules facing execution in China, “there are limits to what we can do.”

“It doesn’t make us stop,” Mr. Aquino told reporters following his speech before the Federations of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce, Inc., in Pasay City. “But there are limits to what we can do,” the President said.

Vice President Jejomar Binay was scheduled to send a letter of appeal to the Chinese government for the three Filipinos convicted of drug trafficking and facing execution on March 30.
