Meralco energizes new Clark City substation

Meralco recently energized its new 69 kV-13.8kV Interim Substation in New Clark City (NCC), the country’s first smart, disaster-resilient, and sustainable city.  The substation addresses the power demands of the NCC Phase 1A project covering 60 hectares and includes the New Clark City Sports Complex that houses the New Clark City Stadium and New Clark City Aquatic Center which will be the venue of the 30th South East Asian Games later this year. 

Meralco, along with its partners Marubeni Corporation, Kansai Electric Power Co. Inc., and Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc. received the notice of award to develop the Electric Power Distribution System in the NCC by the Bases Conversion Development Authority (BCDA) earlier this year. 

The Meralco working team who led the construction and energization of the NCC Substation represented by Substation Head, Alberto N. Castillo and Testing Head, Froilan Rofuli III. Joining the Meralco team during the energization were NCC Assistant General Manager Danilo Ancheta and BCDA Project Manager Miguel Marfil.
