MANILA, Philippines — Sixty-six Filipino students will have the opportunity to pursue their higher education abroad through the Erasmus+ scholarship program of the European Union (EU).

According to the EU, the Erasmus+ program will enable students to pursue MA programs in different universities across the European continent.

EU Ambassador to the Philippines Franz Jessen said in a statement released Wednesday that the Philippines ranks sixth globally as the highest number of students being awarded the Erasmus+ scholarship.

Jessen congratulated the Erasmus+ students and urged them to become ambassadors of goodwill and agents of change to help strengthen the partnership between the EU and the Philippines.

Jessen also encouraged Erasmus+ scholars to give back to their country once they are done pursuing their studies in the EU.

More than 300 students and lecturers benefitted from the program, which covers air travel to Europe, tuition fees and a monthly living allowance, since 2004. /je
