PAL flights to and from Hong Kong resume on August 15

MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Airlines (PAL) flights to and from Hong Kong resumed on Thursday after the Hong Kong International Airport Authority (HKIAA) tightened its security measures in view of the ongoing mass demonstrations.

Several flights to and from Hong Kong were canceled on Wednesday due to the protest actions in the special administrative region of China.

In an advisory issued on Thursday, PAL said the following flights will push through as scheduled:

The management of PAL said that passengers entering the Hong Kong International Airport must present their valid ID, passport and/or boarding pass while airport staff and airline personnel must present their airline company ID or airport permit.

The airline also reminded its passengers to be at the airport three hours before the flight departure time.

Ticket sales inside the airport are also temporarily suspended, PAL said, and those who wish to fly to Hong Kong must either log on to the PAL’s website, call the hotline for reservation, or visit the airline’s ticketing office in East Kowloon, Hong Kong. /jpv
