Catholic youth urged to pray for world peace

MANILA, Philippines—A mass prayer for world peace by 11,000 Catholic youth would be held at St. John the Evangelist Cathedral in Dagupan City Friday, Radyo Inquirer 990 AM said.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) urged the faithful to join in praying for peace throughout the world, the report said.

At the same time, Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas warned the people against superstitious beliefs, like the notion that the 11-11-11 date provides a lucky combination number.

Villegas instead urged the Filipinos to put their faith in God and not pin their hopes on luck and lucky charms.
