Duterte bares invitation to visit S. Korea anew along with Russia’s Putin
MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday said he was invited to visit South Korea anew, a year after he visited the East Asian nation.
Speaking before the Filipino community in Tokyo, Japan where he is currently on a working visit, Duterte bared that he was invited along with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The President, however, did not disclose details of the invitation.
“I was invited to (South) Korea again with President Putin. I’m just trying to figure it out if it’s not too much kasi commercial (flight) kaming lahat (ngayon),” Duterte said, noting that renting a plane would cost the government around P5 million a day.
Duterte went on an official visit to South Korea in June last year.
His visit drew flak when he kissed a woman, who was actually married, on stage, sparking condemnation from women’s rights groups. (Editor: Gilbert S. Gaviola)
